One little note about my "buy now" button system: paypal keeps track of inventory, which means each frog can only be purchased once.

Unfortunately the system has a major flaw: until I manually remove the button after the item has sold, you won't know whether something is still available until you actually CLICK on the button. THEN it will tell you if the item is sold out. Until I figure out a way to change that, I can only apologize for the inconvenience.

Due to a significant increase in US Post Office charges, I sadly had to increase international shipping rates. Shipping is $ 3.00 domestic, $ 7.00 international. The Buy-now button only adds $ 3.00, I will INVOICE the difference to all international customers. My apologies for that inconvenience....

I moved all the "old" frogs from this page to a new archive,
THE FROG POND, in case you are curious what was hopping around here before...and there are LOTS of frogs hopping around, it might take a long long time to load...

#  A  -  "Fromp"-Pendant

4th of July is approaching rapidly, and you have to be in proper company for the parade.....Take "Fromp" - ready to wear. I made 5, but they are so similar that I decided I could get away with a single picture....Happy Independance Day!

approximately 1.5 inches tall (a little taller than the two I made last week - the measurement includes the wire-wrapping, but not the bail...), $ 62

SOLD OUT - thank you!

Monday, April 17th

"Frogs gone wild"

Each strand consists of 7 beads with frogs climbing all over the pink lilypads....the design of vines and lilypads continues over the back of the bead, but the frogs are only on the front, which makes them much more comfortable to wear as bracelets...the size of the beads in each strand differs (there are two "petite" strands), so make sure to read the description.

# A  -  Frogs gone wild on light green

7.5 inch long strand, with dichroic, $ 168

SOLD

# B  -  Frogs gone wild on light blue

medium size beads, 7 inch long strand, $ 155

SOLD

# B 1  -  Matching Focal in light blue

1 inch tall, $ 75 ($25 refund if purchased together with the matching bracelet set above)

SOLD

# C  -  Frogs gone wild on translucent Jade

I used one of those "unknown" Double Helix colors I purchased years ago...it starts out as a transparent color and turns into this cool semi-translucents shade of jade. Petite beads (for you guys, Linda and Marie!), 6 3/4 inch long strand, $ 160

SOLD

# C 1  -  Matching Focal on translucent Jade

35 cm tall bead (sorry, couldn't figure out the inch thing) - $ 75 (again, $ 25 refund if you purchase this with matching bracelet strand...)

SOLD

# D  -  Frogs gone wild on Dark Blue

another strand of petite beads, 6.5 inch long strand, $ 150

SOLD

# E  -  Frogs gone wild on two-tone Aquamarine

This one is my personal favorite (I will make another set for my traditional "trip-of-the-year" Australia bracelet) - a core of CIM Aquamarine encased in a layer of pale aqua, with aqua dichroic, fairly large beads, 7 inch long strand, $ 175

AOLD

# E-1 -  Matching Focal on Two-tone teal

2 inch tall bead, $ 80 (same deal as above, $ 25 refund if you purchase both...)

SOLD

# F  -  Frogs gone wild on dark green

6.5 inch long strand, $ 150

SOLD

------------------------------------------------------------------

# A  -  Purple Frog on Birdcage

22mm tall, vibrant green stringer lines over green dichroic. Frog visiting his buddy in jail? $ 38

SOLD

# B  -  Purple Frog on floral barrel

 1 inch tall, $ 48

SOLD

# C  -  Pink toed frog with pink Murrini

1 inch tall, $ 55

SOLD

# D  -  Green Frog on oval bead with pink Murrini

1 1/2 inch tall, $ 60

SOLD

# E  -  Pink toed frog on sapphire bead with pink Murrini

(the color of the bead looks a lot darker than it is, I used CIM "Sapphire", which is kind of a greyish blue. the bead has a lot of depth)

1 inch tall bead, $ 52

SOLD

# F  -  Pink toed frog on bright blue bead with pink Murrini

34mm tall, $ 60

SOLD

# G  -  The crazy Chess-Player

"Marbled" purple frog hanging on to a quark-style bicone, with my signature chessboard (sort of) inside. at 2 inches tall, not for the faint at frog. $ 95

SOLD

# H  -  All Mine

46mm tall, this guy is very fond of all the little glassy things he amassed on his bead. And he's not sharing! $ 80

SOLD

# I  -  The hugging Frog

Another 2 inch giant, he's an optimist, always looking at the sunny side of things. He'll cheer you when you might need a little smile and everybody else around you is grouchy. $ 95

SOLD

# J  -  Frog on the Rocks

I had a really hard time fotographing this little guy - he is too adorable, embedded forever in a 3/4inch ice-cube. He took me forever to make, I hope that nobody will buy him (yeah, I guess I would just keep him if I really believed that, but I wanted to show him off!)

$ 50

SOLD

# K  -  Purple Frog on clear medallion

Amazing colors....you'll love the simplicity of this! 1.5 inch diameter medallion (lentil with flat center, very comfortable to wear) $ 76

SOLD

I had a discussion the other day about the price of "scuba-frogs"...sometimes people don't realize how much work goes into such a small bead - you have to make a Murrini for the mask, a tiny twistie for the hose, a thick stringer for the tank...and then you have to be careful when placing the mask, your hand has to be totally steady, if you move just a tiny bit the wrong way, you have to remove the mask and the eyes, and start all over - and while you're holding your breath before placing the mask, there is a good chance that the bead itself cracks - only one out of every two attempted scube-frog actually works out. If I write it like this, I wonder why on earth I actually bother making these...

;-) They are just so darn cute, and they make the perfect present for people who love to dive....

# L  -  The Novice Diver

He has a very "doubtful" expression on his face. It's his first dive and he's not sure he is liking this whole diving thing. 1 inch tall bead, $ 95

SOLD

# M  -  The Dive Master

The dive master had time to acutally look around, and he found a fat orange star-fish...3/4 inch tall, $ 90

SOLD

# N  -  The Gathering of Prince Charmings

A collection of tiny frogs, less than half an inch tall, each sits on a bead with different color flowers. These guys would be perfect for a charm bracelet, they passed a rigorous "stress test" (being tumbled for a few minutes in a ziplock bad...) - or, if not a bracelet, maybe a necklace. I wirewrapped each frog, so they are ready to go! 7 frogs for $ 150

SOLD

"in the hand-shot, for size comparison"

# A  -  Mini Crazy-Frog Pendant A

3/4 inch small frog, $ 50

SOLD

# B  -  Mini Crazy-Frog Pendant B

3/4 inch small frog, $ 50

# C  -  Mini Crazy-Frog Pendant C

3/4 inch small frog, $ 50

# D  -  Black and White Crazy-Frog Pendant

3/4 inch small frog, $ 40

SOLD

# E  -  Large Crazy-Frog Pendant

1 inch tall pendant, $ 65

SOLD

# F  -  Two Toe Tony

I love this frog, despite, or maybe because, I forgot to give him 3 toes on his right foot. I was so busy keeping the long bead hot (keeping a bead hot and preserving the detail of a frog are two mutually exclusive endeavors...). Now I had a serious pricing dilemma. Lots of people aren't made perfect - but we would never say that they are "worth less"...so, why should the frog be worth less. Ah, decisions....

2.5 inch long pendant, $ 50

SOLD

# G  -  The Space Lizard - Never give up Joe!

This started out as a Desigually bead, which I didn't like, so instead of tossing it or giving it the famous "sizzling water bath", I kept working it, making it swirl around, encase it...and after about 30 minutes, I STILL didn't like it, so I put a lizard on top, which turns any bead into a good bead...1.25 inch tall pendant, $ 65

SOLD

There are two "batches" of frogs that have hatched in my kiln, both using the Ornela greens I brought from Europe. I kep the designs simple, to let the green of the frogs shine...it is very cool. Rich and deep. I'm not sure what else this glass is good for, but for frogs it's freaking fantastic... The first batch was made with the lighter shade of olive, black, dichroic and clear. The second batch was made with the darker green, transparent cobalt blue and lot of little white flowers. These frogs would also double as mascots for Seahawks Fans...

Wow - I just realized that my last frog sale was 4 month ago. I hope that after my next class this coming weekend I'll have some time to work on a major frog-attack. Till then, this is what I have:

# A  -  "Help me Rhonda"

This might be a strange name for a frog, but it was the first thing that came to my mind....Heeeeeeelp!

1 inch tall, bright and cheerful, $ 40

SOLD

# B  -  The Purple Rocket-frog

Each part of the frog is "encased" in Reichenbach Bluish Amethyst, and he clings to a white-ended bicone (the white disappears a little in the background) with a white-amethyst lace wrapped around the bead, with bits of dichroic sparkling through. 2 inches tall, $ 68

SOLD

# G  -  The Tree huggers

If I should ever suffer a heart attack, it would be while making a "double frog bead" - it's about as stressful as beadmaking gets for me. But the result is worth it - there is something comforting about "doing things with someone else" - and "having someone who looks out for you". I think about stuff like that when I'm making beads like this. And I'm happy that I have more than just one person in my life....:-) I hope you do to.

46mm tall, very sparkly! $ 85

SOLD

# H  -  Romancing the Frogs

Basically the same as above - but much more romantic...Also very sparkly.

SOLD

# B  -  Australian Reef-frog

This little guy (and his brother below) were inspired by the wish of the inspire-me winner, Anna Bodenham. Anna wanted a reef bead, and as an after-thought a frog on top, since it's kind of my "signature"...great idea...I think. The first guy is a little lazy, he just sits around, which is why a barnacle managed to attach itself to his behind....1 inch tall, $ 60

SOLD

# C  -  Tasmanian Reef-frog

There is also a Southern cousin, who is a little more agile, to not be eaten by the devils in his neigborhood...1 inch tall, $ 60

Thursday, August 21st, 2014

Summer is nearing the end - but there is no season for exploring the mysteries of the deep (at least not if you have a good dry-suit....). Need the perfect outfit to brag about your ocean adventures with your dive buddies? These 3 pieces might be for you:

# A  -  The Scuba-doo Bracelet

Definitely one of a kind bracelet with flat, squeezed, reef beads (average size is about 1 inch long) with a tiny scuba frog perched on the center bead. The other beads feature a seaturtle, octopus, crab and a starfish - the back of the beads are also decorated with clownfish and barnacles...(all flat). I particularly like the Sterling Silver silver dollar charm, which I found at a local beadstore for WAY too much....but it's really nice. Comfortable to wear and adjustable from 7.5 inches to 8.5 inches, $ 200

SOLD

 # B  -  Scuba-doo the Dive-master

Very nice focal size Scuba-frog, 1.5 inches long....All kinds of details in the teardrop shaped bead, and a priceless expression of doubt (if you are the one to adopt him, you will know what I'm talking about.) He is probably looking at the antics of the Scuba-baby frogs below, shaking his head....at least he doesn't have to worry about the bends with those guys....) $ 115

SOLD

# C  -  The Scubadoo Dive-baby Earrings

These guys are about as cute as they come - less than 1 inch long, super lightweight and the only problem is that you can't see them while you wear them....$ 110

SOLD

 # D  -  Riding the Summer Breeze

This frog is "recycled", so to speak - the bead started out as an orrb that was not quite pressed right, so instead of tossing it, I added lots of clear on both sides to turn it into a somewhat marble round bead, and then I followed my motto "if in doubt, add a frog"....and I certainly did not regret it....1 inch tall, $ 32

SOLD

 # E  -  The Mini Frog

One of the smallest frogs I have ever made - not much of a decorative value (since you can barely see it), but if you're a collector of either frogs, or just tiny things, you might enjoy it..1 cm tall, $ 20

SOLD

Need some matching frog earring beads? Today is your day...and other matching stuff as well...

All of today's frogs are sitting on small encased florals, the average size is 15mm (measured from bottom of the bead to head of frog).

(description, prices and buy-now buttons coming up...)

Today I have a bunch of beads that combine my love for Oceanbeads with my love for frogs. I might be the only one, but I find the little scuba-diving frogs endearing. Someone should tell them though that they are perfectly equipped by nature, they don't need all that "stuff" we poor humans require to discover the wonders under water...

The frogs are sorted by size, and "fanciness"...and resulting price

Lots of "fancy frogs" today - I am really having fun with the Poison Dart Frogs, I even considered to get a few pet versions, but they are so darn small, I don't think they would make good "models"...so for now I am relying on google-images.
All of today''s frogs come "ready-to-wear", even those that don't have any "hardware" in the picture...speaking of "picture" - I added the photographs I worked from ....

# A - Ranitomeya Amazonica

Maybe the most detailed frog I have ever made, I almost fainted while I made him, since I was holding my breath "drawing" the tiny white circles. Really amazing, if I may say so...

1.25 inch diameter, etched flat lentil, $ 135

SOLD

# B - Red-eyed Treefrog, turning

I am really fascinated with the colors and "patterns" in these frogs, so I made two...the first one is ready to jump off the bead at a moment's notice....

1.25 inch flat lentil with green dichroic, $ 125

SOLD

# C - Red-eyed Treefrog on palm frond

1.25 inch flat lentil with green dichroic, $ 125

SOLD

# D - For-the-life-of-me-I-can't-find- what-this-one-is-called-frog

This is the kind of frog where you have to "know your glass" in order to avoid wasting a lot of time...the legs look to me like they should be made with black glass, covered with white enamels and then black dots added on top. I thought I would make it a little more "feasible" by using a stiff white for the legs - and the stiffest white turned out to be "Marshmallow" by CIM...it's not really white though, but a dense translucent...which is kind of cool, almost a little "ghostly"....not the most realistic looking frog of the bunch, but he deserves to be loved to!

1.25 inch flat lentil with red poppies on orange, $ 80

SOLD

# E - Strawberry Poison Dart frog

This is probably the "best shaped" frog of the bunch - almost like a real frog "frozen" in the moment... he sits on a 1.4 inch diameter medallion...$ 128

SOLD

# F - Another-no-name-Poison-Dart frog

Very sweet little fellow...with lots of detail, but not as much as some of the others...1.25 inch flat lentil....$ 85

SOLD

# G - Juan Pablo

(Okay, I am just watching the finale of The Bachelor, and naming a frog after the idiot bachelor is maybe not a good idea...but as long as you don't kiss this guy, you will have a cute green frog on hand...) Juan Pablo sits on a 1 inch tall olive shaped bead, with purple over silver and lavender flowers...$ 60

SOLD

# H - Chris, the good guy

Very nice, "watery" colors in this 1 1/16th inch tall "fat barrel", really pretty. $ 70

SOLD

# I - No need to grow up...

Usually I make the frogs to stretch across the length of the bead, but in this bead turned out so pretty with the white stamen in the lavender flowers that I didn't want to cover a lot of it with a big frog, so I made a tiny one...very cute. 1 1/4 inch tall "beefy" olive shaped bead, $ 80

SOLD

# J - "Desigually" with frog

This focal would go perfectly with the matching bracelet, lots of purple and teal decoration...fun. 1 1/2 inch tall bicone, $ 75

SOLD

# K - "Who me?" on Flower-ball

This frog has a slightly guilty look on his face, he almost looks like he is trying to hide behind the "flower-ball" in summery tones in oranges and yellow. 1 inch round ball, $ 58

SOLD

# L - Catch me if you can...

Same flower-ball as above, with two little guys who are trying to chase each other...forever in vain...1 inch ball, $ 75

SOLD

# M - A Baby Spacegator

You either think this little fellow is the cutest thing in outer space, or you find it crazy stupid. I love him...he sits on a 1 inch "Galaxy Bead" (in my book, inspired by Andrea Guarino...), I hope that someone will adopt him, so I have a reason to make more....$ 68

SOLD

I listed some frogs a couple of weeks ago, I never wrote a newsletter about it, so I have a couple left....

# C - Orlando on a small olive

1 1/4 inch high, $ 60

SOLD

# K - Red-eyed tree frog hanging on on pink

1 1/4 inch high, $ 40

SOLD

I can't say that I used to be much of a sports-fan, but when half of the world around is dressed up in blue Seahawks shirts and the house is shaking from the neighbors cheers, it's hard to stay immune to the football fever of the season. Even the frogs in our lake have decided to play along...

# A - The 12th frog

These football frogs are possibly some of the cutest things that ever escaped my torch….silly, but adorable...

1 1/4 inch long, $ 85

SOLD

# B - Packer's Fan

1 1/4 inch long, $ 85

SOLD

# C - I-no-longer-forgot-whose Fan

I know that I made this frog to represent a specific team, but for the life of me I can't remember which one. Update: someone was so kind to email me and let me know that this guy is fan of Payton Manning from the Denver Broncos! Also, there is a tiny speck of orange on the cheek, it looks a lot bigger in the picture, still, it's a flaw sort of….still, 1 1/4 inch long, $ 25

SOLD

Let's leave the stadium and go to the jungle…
A added the pictures I used for inspiration to most of the "soso realistic looking" frogs, though you might enjoy seeing what I work from. In the past I used to print them out on paper, now I have them on my iPad-mini in a shelf to the left of my work table.

# D - The Rainforest is mine!

This was the first "frontal" frog I made, it's amazing how different it is from the "regular" frog. I also learned to draw a "frame" around the image in the shape of the bead I intend to make. On this one, I kind of "ran out of room" for the head…, so it's fairly close to the hole - but it still works well and looks much much prettier in person
1.35 inch diamater medallion, (this poor guy was wanted by no one…so I drastically reduced the price, because I know someone will love him, and I much rather know him in a good home than in one of my many bead-boxes) - $ 20

SOLD

# E - So much to smile about in life

On the second "frontal frog" bead I gave myself a little more room above the frog - and I couldn't resist going in there with a dental tool and give the little fellow a wicked grin.

1 3/4 inch long squeezed bead, $ 85

SOLD

# F - King of the Rainforest

Not a bad rendition….but still a little on the cute-side, and making those "foot extensions" at the end of the legs was something I really had to force myself to, but they do look okay.
1 3/4+ inch long bicone, $ 98

SOLD

# G - Fresh out of poison darts

This blue poison dart frog (the second one I ever made) turned out nice, the most difficult part is the application of white enamel to only part of the body - heating that part, sprinkling on enamel and the blowing really hard to remove the rest of the enamel from the bead or the legs works well, but it probably utterly dangerous for your health….. ah, the things we do for the sake of beauty. (And yes, I do have a respirator and no, I don't wear it - like MOST of the people I have talked to who wear enamels a lot. It's one of those "do as I say…" things I guess…

1 1/2+ inch long bicone, $ 90

SOLD

# H - Leo-Fairfrog

1 3/4 inch long bicone/urn, $ 85

SOLD

# I - Boys just want to have fun

1 1/4 inch tall olive shaped bead, $ 85

SOLD

# J - To a rosy future

1 1/8th inch tall olive shaped bead, $ 40

SOLD

# K - Dreaming of Springtime

1 1/8th inch tall olive shaped bead, $ 50

SOLD

# L - Miniature frogs on the go

most of the big frogs above are really stressful to make, so I "relaxed" in-between by making some really tiny frogs. Just because I had a bunch of these in my drawer, I wire wrapped the frogs (I have a total of 10 of these) and put them on a lanyard, ready to attach to something….Or you could take the lanyard off and turn two of these into earrings, or a tiny pendant…. less than 1/2 inch tall, $ 30 including shipping

SOLD OUT

What do frogs do in the winter? Of course, they chase snowflakes, try not to be embedded into snow-balls and they drink hot buttered rum, if they can sneak into a cup somewhere without drowning in it....

# A - A winter romance

Cute frog-fellow is hugging an elegant elongated heart, hoping that next year is the year he will finally fall in love, once the pond has thawed...1 1/2 inch high, $ 45

SOLD

# B - Frozen Baseball

1 inch high, $ 35

SOLD

# C - One Special Night

1 1/4 inch high, $ 35

# H - Manfred the Mini-nerd

Just about the cutest thing from my torch...looks much nicer in person, sometimes the photography exaggerates "flaws" that you can't even see with the "bare eye"....3/4 inch tall, which is pretty tiny, $ 38

SOLD

# I - Jacques Frogtoe, the almost perfect Scuba frog

This frog is absolutely perfect in every little detail - except for ONE tiny flaw: you can see in the second picture that the strap of the diving mask does not connect with the rim of the mask, there is a tiny gap. It's not broken off - I just didn't realize that it didn't connect when I made it. For that reason, the scube frog is 50 % off from what it would have been otherwise. 1 inch tall, $ 50

SOLD

# A - On the "lily-pad": Two is a crowd
This is possible the "longest taking" bead I have ever made...In order to make an encased floral LENTIL bead, the bead has to be pressed first, then the flowers are applied, encased, and then pressed again - I should have been exhausted just after making the lentil, don't know what possessed me to add two frogs on top (one frog is a piece of cake, two frogs is a heart attack in the making). But I think it was well worth it - hope someone else thinks so too....

1.5 inch in diamter, $ 135

SOLD

# B - Friends Forever

I obviously survived the first "double-frog" bead above, so the next day I attacked it again...I'm particulary proud of the "clinging" feet, when working on that type of detail it's a very fine line of not heating enough (and the toes popping off) and heating just a tiny bit too much, and all you end up with it a green blob. Very pleased with this one....

1 inch high, $ 95

SOLD

# C - She caught the bouquet and got more than she bargained for....

Weddings seem to be in the air this time of the year - and frogs tie the know as well...they have high moral standards and need to do what is right so they can populate the ponds... This bride didn't get the idea of tossing the bouquet into the crowd, but she tossed it in the air and caught it herself. Ever since, the groom is MIA....(but you should see the rock on her finger!)

1 inch high, $ 65

SOLD

# D - A Redsox Fan

A poison dart frog of sorts....for those who like bright....ready to wear...

1 1/4 inch high, $ 75

SOLD

# E - A Shining Star

3/4 inch high, $ 30

The frogs I have listed today were kind of made with the "looming" Mother's Day in mind. Giving mom flowers is always a good idea, and if there is a cute little frog attached to it, even better....and ALL beads are "beadhopperly ready to wear" - a no fuss present for mom! (Or yourself, I promise I won't check up on you....)

I have three different kinds:

1. Generation X-frogs (slightly more realistic looking, with a lighter color underbelly) - which are fairly large focals - and named after Greek Gods (those guys are a little arrogant and they demanded something more dramatic than "Bob"...)

2. The "Mama's Boys" - classic style in medium sizes, all named with a cute "Y" at the end of their name. They like to be pampered by Mothers....

3. A batch of really adorable TINY frogs on Pandora/Troll beads. I am really pleased with the way they turned out (you will see if you get one, how small the detail is) - and accordingly they are named after the dwarfs in "Snow White" (I did my research on that and choose the names of the dwarfs in the 1937 version, but there is one extra frog which I took they liberty to name myself....)

1. The Greek Gods

# A - Zeus

# O - Tommy-boy

ALL OF TODAYS FROGS WILL SHIP "READY TO WEAR" with beadhoppers findings...

# A - Guiseppe the Gay Gondolieri

This was the only pink frog I had initially made, but since I got a lot of feedback on him when I posted the picture on facebook I decided to make a few more. Which I'm glad I did, because I wasn't all that thrilled with this initial one - since I had used pink cane I had already made, and the shades of pink in the legs (which has faint black stripes) and the in the arm twisty doesn't really match, which is why THIS little fellow is slightly cheaper than the other three - for which I made different cane to get a more uniform pink hue... even though the pattern of the bead itself is the prettiest and was also the most time-consuming...1 inch high, $ 70

SOLD

# B - Guillermo, his boyfriend

Guillermo has the cutest of faces - mostly an accident - the pink glass I use for the body is very soft, and it's a lot harder to keep the mass of the body from "slumping" down onto the bead. Oftentimes, when the body "drops" down onto the bead, it ruins the bead, but once in a while I get lucky and it actually adds to the goofy expression of the frog. In this case, I definitely got lucky.... 1 1/4 inch high, $ 75

SOLD

# B - Giovanni, the next door neighbor

Another gay Italian frog, this one tends to his little Venitian garden in a windowsill. 1 1/4 inch high, $ 80

SOLD

# D - Geno, the one everybody has the hots for

The prettiest of the gay gondolieri crew - long and lean - and arrogant as hell...1 1/2 inch high, $ 85

SOLD

# E - Paul the Pajama Frog

A fine specimen of my "Poison Fart Frog" series - in blues, greens and turquoise.. 1 inch plus high, $ 80

SOLD

# F - Orlando, the Orange Striped Poison Dart Frog

Moving towards the more realistic looking Poison Dart Frogs...less "cutesy", but still cute, and the base bead is really pretty with dichroic and a frog-egg-pattern..1 3/4 inch high, $ 88

SOLD

# G - Punch, the Popsicle Poison Dart Frog

While I was "aiming" for a realistic pattern, the frog is still definitely more on the phantasy side of life...1 inch + tall, $ 75

SOLD

# H - Bobbie BlueEyes

This is more of a "classic Corina-frog", on a very pretty encased floral bead. He has a lot of intricate transparent green detail on the body, but somehow the aqua "Sharon Peters"-eyes take over on the "looks" side of the bead. 1 inch + tall, $ 75

SOLD

# I - Not your ordinary Blues

This is probably MY personal favorite, it very much captures the look of a real poison dart frog (applying the white enamel to only part of the bead is the most difficult aspect of making this style...) - kind of hoping nobody will want this...;-). 1 1/4 inch diameter medallion, $ 95

(OF COURSE, THIS ONE HAD TO BE THE ONE TO SELL FIRST....DARN)

# J - Owen owns the Jungle

Did I say the bead above was my favorite? this one is definitely the runner up - it's very cute in a different way. He hangs on the bead as if he owns it, which he does...sort of....1 1/4 inch diameter medallion, $90

SOLD

# K - Fritz the first Glamourboy

I made two "simple" frogs on dichroic, kind of like those I offered in my "frog-in-a-bag" deal - just for "relaxation" between all the fancy frogs. The two I have here pretty much look the same, and they are still $ 25 (3/4 inch tall).

SOLD

# L - Sean the second Glamourboy

Same as above, 3/4 inch, $ 25

SOLD
# M - It's more than just business

This frog is a "remake" of the frog I use for my business cards and my facebook profile picture. He has a very soulful look on him, reminding himself that business is always more successful when it's not "JUST" about business....made with Triton and Rembrand, lots of interesting shine and shimmer...slightly under 1 1/2 inch tall, $ 85

SOLD

# N - Simply bronzed

I was planning on a whole series of "bronzed frogs", on a base of experimental Clio beads...but for some reason I got sidetracked into the brighter colors... so this is actually the only specimen in that line of frogs that never happened.... very pretty bronze color on the frog, the base bead is almost the same hue..my amazing Clio effect didn't quite happen...3/4 inch high, $ 30

SOLD

# O - Blue Swirls Blues

I made a few more bronzed boys, but instead of Clio for the base, I stuck with what I know and love: triton. I can always count on lovely colors with that. This one has nice shades of blues and greens in a continuous encased swirl, almost 1 inch tall, $ 38

SOLD

# P - Pierre the Parachutist

BEAUTIFUL golden hues in this bead...one of the more surprising aspects of Triton...3/4 inch tall, $ 42

SOLD

# Q - Peter Puddles

Amazing, how the same colors can turn out so differently, just based on the amount of heat used. More pale shades of bluish green, very pretty, 3/4 inch high, $ 40

SOLD

that's it for today, thanks for looking! My next batch of fancy frogs will hopefully be inspired by South African wildlife....

SOLD OUT, sorry (if I'm in the mood to make more, I'll let you know)

Tuesday, January 15th 2013

The "winter-theme" carries on to the frogs, at least a tiny bit.

# A - King of the Frozen Pond

I have carried the IDEA for this bead around in my head for over a year. When I finally sat down to give it life I thought "why on earth did I wait so long?". It turned out just the way I had envisioned it, maybe even a little better. Lovely, if I may say so. The back of the bead has green swirls, and the two Koi swim on a background of purple and green dichroic. The etching makes it really look as if the Koi are under ice...
2 inch long, 1 inch wide, ready to wear with Beadhopper findings, $ 135

SOLD

# B - The Popping Frog

My first Facebook giveaway was a frog bead that I made last year, which got stuck on the mandrel. I was so excited to find it outside in the yard - I had totally forgotten how much I had loved this bead; so, I kept it next to the torch and made another one....this one came off the mandrel just fine...phhh. Fun and bright colors that will take care of the worst case of the blues! 1.25 inch diameter lentil, $ 85

SOLD

These frogs haven't lost their marbles!
I had so much fun with these shades of purples and greens swirled together - so I made three similar frogs in different sizes...unfortunately, I didn't have enough energy left to give them fancy names...I leave that up to you.

# C - Large Marble Frog

1 inch tall, $ 48

SOLD

# D - Medium Marble Frog

Almost 1 inch high, $ 45

SOLD

# E - Small Marble Frog

# F - "Pandora-on-Ice"

A curious little fellow on pale purple/green dichroic (doesn't show up in the pictures...), fits Pandora etc. bracelets.
1/2 inch high from butt to head, $ 32

SOLD

# G - Erwin on a GlitterEgg

This is a frog of my "Rescue" series - which are basically frogs that I put on a bead that I made to test something - and then didn't want to throw it out, so I put a frog on top. This bead was a test for corkscrew dichroic on a clear base, in a small olive shaped bead.
3/4 inch high, $ 20

SOLD

that's it for today, thanks for hopping by!

# F - Reindeer Frog
I only make this kind of silly creature once in a while, actually, the last one was in 2008....so, if you like him..... will it be safe to wear him? I bumped him around to test his antlers, and I think they will be fine, as long as you don't drop him on a hard surface.... 3/4 inch tall, toe to antler, $ 40

SOLD

# G - MacSmitten 2012

There was a MacSmitten in 2011 - and there is one now, and it's always nice to see that this years beads are a tiny bit better than last years......Heartwarming when it's cold out....1 inch high....(the bead only) - ready to wear in a pretty Beadhopper outfit....$ 50

SOLD

# H - Angel Frog on Snowflake Orrb
I love these "side-mounted" frogs - the are extremely comfortable to wear on a short chain, and they show off both the frog and the bead he sits on....I really like this one...and I "test-wore" it for a couple of days to make sure the wings are safe...I showered with it, slept with it - and no worries, I gave him a good cleaning before offering him here. 3/4 inch diameter orrb, $ 60

SOLD

# I - Mini-Angelfrog landed on Snowflake
This frog sits on the same size Snowflake as the one above, so you can get an idea how tiny he is...one of those adorable things you might leave to your grandkids some day - 3/4 inch diameter, $ 60

SOLD

# J - A real-life Angel Frog - Someone burst his bubble
One of those "mistakes" that make it work just perfectly - Angelfrog on a hollow bead, but the bead blew a hole - which I enlarged a little, so you can see inside the bubble. Pretty cool - 1 inch high (the entire pendant!) - $ 40

SOLD

Have a wonderful Christmas time!

SOLD

# B - The Elvis Imposter

The original Elvis frog was made per request as a Facebook contest win - but he was so adorable, I had to make a twin.. in the last picture it almost looks like he is "playing" the bead....one of my prouder frog-moments...

At first I had planned to call this guy the "The Pro-Golfer", but when I took the picture I realized that he looks rather clueless...

Tiny version of the pro-golfer,

This is without doubt one of the "finest" frogs I have ever made (and with 2 hours also the one that took the longest...). He actually escaped the pond and went to the big city where he can scale tall buildings to rescue the world. Or, if not the world, at least damselflies in distress....Lot's of Spidermannish detail, 2 inches long, $ 125 - for the diehard Spiderman friends

next frog-sale might already include some Santa Frogs, tis the season...(Really? that is scary....isn't it still summer???)
--------------------------------------------------
Thursday, September 6th

After coming home from Europe, it took me a little while to get back into the beadmaking mood - and no matter what, frogs always make me happy at the torch....and I was VERY happy in the last 6 weeks, as you will see...

# A - Prince Charming, holding on to Love

If there ever has been a cute frog bead coming out of my torch, it's Prince Charming...(I have my silly romantic times, can't wait for "Once upon a Time" to start again...although THAT Prince Charming is kind of bland..). Just to show you how tiny he is, I added one of those dreaded "bead in the hand" shots...
I could really imagine him being used as charms for bracelets, or dangling off something (like a phone, but I don't think most smart phones come with "loops" to hang stuff off, they are missing a huge market, as the Japanese can attest to...).

16mm high, $ 20

SOLD

The Glamorboys

Three little simple green frogs on a dichroic "olive" - nothing exciting, but a perfect "starter frog"....if you're just curious what my frogs look like in person, you won't be disappointed with these. And they work perfectly as a pendant for yourself or a gift for a special friend...

# B - Gustav Glamourboy
20mm high, $ 28

SOLD

# C - Garth Glamourboy
23mm high, $ 28

SOLD

# D - Gary Glamourboy
25mm high, $ 28

SOLD

# E - Hans holding on for dear life

Just a little funny guy, and cursed be Sharon Peters (well, not really) - but nobody can make transparent aqua eyes on a critter without somehow being reminded of her fabulously fun creations...

23 mm high, $ 32

SOLD
